These are two things that I think are important in life, and I know I have spoken about friendships in another post so won’t go into it too much.
I believe friends are so important in life and I don’t have a big family but I class my friends as my family, and I say that my two best friends are like sisters to me. I tell them everything and they are always there for me if I need them no matter what, which is lovely to be so close to someone and to have a friendship so strong!
I always say you never know what will happen in life and families fall apart, relationships break up, but you will always have your friends there for you!
My friends have also helped me out loads with the other topic of this blog post, and that is giving new things a try in life. I am someone who gets nervous with trying new things, and I prefer to stick to what I know and don’t leave my comfort zone.
But I know life is too short and that it’s good to try something new every now and then. There may be people reading this that have the same problem, who don’t like trying new things and get anxious.
Well let me say that it’s okay to feel like that as you are not alone! One thing I got nervous about was simple things like getting on a train, especially the underground and if I got caught in rush hour that was even worse. But I worked on it and my friends were there to help me with it, and it’s taken a while yes but I don’t get as nervous as I did before. I can get on a train now and do a new journey without getting nervous and I don’t back out anymore.
It wasn’t as bad I thought it was going to be and my brain was over thinking it too much, that would create a big problem in my head and cause me to get all nervous. When really it was okay and I realised that I was safe and don’t need to worry about it anymore.
Something that might help others to work on those things that get you nervous or anxious, and that is to take a minute to write them down. Just think what is it you avoid doing and put them in order of how scary they seem, it will help you think about what you do actually avoid.
By putting them in the order you can start with something that yes makes you nervous, but isn’t jumping straight into the deep end! Also even making the list is a big step, and a great start to reaching that bigger goal of doing what you want but having been avoiding for so long.
So if you only get that list done and wait a while until you actually give anything a go, just know that it’s absolutely fine! You have made that first step!
Don’t think that what makes you anxious is silly, because it certainly is not! It makes you anxious and that’s fine, everyone is different and that is what makes you, you!
Take each step at a time and you will get there, I promise you that it will be okay!
You are not alone! We are all in this together! :)
