Anxiety is something that so many people suffer from now, but yet still so many people don’t understand it and don’t understand how it is for the person living with it.
That feeling of anxiety is a horrible feeling and is a feeling that is so hard to control, and sometimes cannot be controlled at all and that is the hardest thing.
Anxiety has a way of creeping up on you when you least expect it, with no warning you suddenly get this overwhelming feeling and you know it’s there, but sometimes you can’t stop it.
Anxiety has different levels and is in everyone, but it affects each person differently and that’s where it can be hard for some people to understand. Because they may say ‘yeah I get anxious and it’s no big deal’, but for you it is a big deal because it affects you differently and controls so much of your life.
Stress and worry can make those anxiety levels shot up and become a lot worse, and when that happens your anxiety levels get a bit too much, and out of know where you end up having a panic attack.
Not many people understand panic attacks, and I can honestly say they are horrible. But just like the levels of anxiety, panic attacks affect people differently.
This can all happen in a split second without you even knowing it, and with no warning your body has put itself in what’s known as the ‘fight or flight’ mode. When this happens your body realises a burst of adrenaline. This is something that has been programmed into our brains for years and years to be able cope in a life or death situation.
When that adrenaline is released it causes your heart to race and your muscles to tense. Your senses are heightened and you start to become more aware of the sounds and smells around you.
When adrenaline is released into your body it can affect everyone differently, and can cause a number of different physical and emotional sensations that can affect you during a panic attack. Panic attacks come on very quickly and most panic attacks last from 5 – 20 minutes, but for some they can last longer.
One of the hardest things I find suffering from anxiety and panic attacks is, not knowing what has always caused it. Sometimes I know but sometimes I can be absolutely fine, then out of know where I can feel myself suddenly getting anxious and I can’t always control it before it turns into a panic attack.
Having anxiety is one of the most annoying things and I hate it, and I just wish it would go away and it didn’t control so much of my life. All the time I think why does my brain have to do this to me, and why can’t I just be normal!
I end up turning things down all the time, not because I don’t want to go, but because sometimes I may be going to a place where I had a panic attack before, and I just can’t bring myself to facing it and risking having another attack.
A lot of people who suffer with anxiety and panic attacks think that no one understands. So many people out there do suffer from it and you don’t always know, so don't worry and think your alone with how you feel because you are completely 100% not.
